Electricians courses made available through New Career Skills Ltd. help people in re-skilling themselves
Havelock Road, Hastings ( prsafe ) February 1, 2012 - Re-skilling professionals at New Career Skills Ltd. have come up with industry relevant electrical training courses that specially cater to mature electrical students (those over 24 years old).
The courses are designed using a unique 'Blended Learning' approach. This approach includes a mix of electrical theory lessons and practical lessons that take place at one of the many electrical training centres. While the theory lessons are supported by the tutor through telephone or email, the practical lessons take place at the learner's pace and always last a full day or two. And for those who wish to take the City and Guilds tests (and other recognized tests), this can be done through one of their several nationwide partners.
Until a few years ago, typical electricians courses were aimed at the school drop-outs ideally aged between 16 and 24. These courses were conducted through day release colleges thereby leading to vocational electrical qualifications. The wages for trainees through these colleges are low and the training period to extends anywhere from 2 to 5 years. People above the age of 24 had no other recourse, but to pay over £20,000 to buy a franchise as no decent college or employer would consider them.
The earlier mentioned school dropout group was a problem because they often trained under sole traders who themselves were ill equipped. And those who were trained by firms often quit after attaining the necessary skills. But the mature age group stands well to this challenge, but they often find it hard to find a worthy training institute. NCS courses are designed keeping in mind the requirements of today and also addressing the fact that a person looking for re-skill cannot afford to wait for 2 years before he could be successfully employed.
"Besides imparting training, NCS also helps candidates chalk out a successful electrician career with the Electrician Course Career Track Programme. A career specialist helps by making you aware of the different specialist recruitment agencies, helping you to spruce up your CV and make you understand that necessary skills that are required to clear a job interview," says a spokesperson at New Career Skills Ltd.
