GRAND RAPIDS, MI(December 21, 2010) - Foremost Insurance Group, an insurance carrier that offers specialty personal lines insurance products, announces the re-brand of Bristol West^®Auto Insurance to Foremost^®as part of the company’s market strategy.

Both Foremost and Bristol West were acquired by Farmers Insurance Group^®, Foremost in 2000 and Bristol West in 2007. As a part of the decision to place all personal lines independent agency products under a single brand, Bristol West business began gradually transitioning to Foremost in 2009. Today, in an additional 26 states, all former Bristol West independent agency business will be sold under the Foremost brand. Five remaining states will make the transition in 2011.

“Our producers have told us, either through research or direct conversations, that they prefer to place all of their customer’s business with the same company when they have the opportunity,” says Jack Hannigan, executive vice president of market management for Foremost. “This brand change gives them the opportunity to do just that and place a customer’s multiple products, such as their auto, property, motorcycle or motor home, with Foremost.”
