TERMINALFOUR Delivers $100K (CAD) Web Content Management Solution to Saint Mary's University in Nova Scotia

20-Jul-2012 | News-Press Release

Cambridge, Massachusetts, 18th July, 2012: TERMINALFOUR, a leading web content management company, today announced that it has provided a $100K (CAD), Web Content Management (WCM) system and support to Saint Mary’s University in Nova Scotia.

Saint Mary’s University is one of the oldest and largest universities in Halifax.  Its website –www.smu.ca – receives 90,000 page views per day.  As the central communications hub for the university, the website caters to the information requirements of 600 faculty and staff, 7,200 students and an involved alumni community. To meet the diverse information and communication demands of all these stakeholders, Saint Mary’s made the decision to invest in a new WCM system.

TERMINALFOUR Site Manager has removed many of the web publishing bottlenecks for Saint Mary’s website and microsites.  The website currently has 15,000 pages but this number is increasing exponentially.  Previously it took hours for a new web page to go live, but this has been reduced to minutes using TERMINALFOUR Site Manager, approximately 10 times faster. In addition, the ease-of-use and intuitiveness of the software has allowed more non-technical users to update their own content rather than waiting for and usurping the time of the IT team.

Saint Mary’s also required a WCM system that could easily integrate with its existing IT infrastructure including its student management systems. It also needed a system that would allow the university to easily incorporate specific modules such as a shared calendar.

Predrag Rajnis, Manager, Web Services and Help Desk, Saint Mary’s University, said, “Our web presence is at the heart of all university communications from recruitment, external affairs to dissemination of academic materials.  As a result, there are increasing demands to be more interactive, to provide more personalised content faster and with greater frequency.

“TERMINALFOUR Site Manager has given us the ability to meet these rising expectations and, importantly, given our web team and content owners the power to easily update and develop the website.   We’ve ambitious plans for the site and TERMINALFOUR Site Manager will play a central role in enabling much of our future enhancements.’

David Miller, COO, TERMINALFOUR, said, “We’re delighted to welcome Saint Mary’s University into our global community of more than 110 university clients.  They are continually striving to deliver a modern, interactive and inclusive online environment for all their stakeholders, and we’re glad to play our part.  Saint Mary’s has long been considered a bellwether in the adoption of IT solutions in the Canadian higher education market, and their selection of TERMINALFOUR Site Manager is a resounding endorsement of our software, people and ethos.”
