Southwest Schools at Texas Offers Training for Various Careers

16-Mar-2011 | News-Press Release

Since 1979, Southwest Schools of Texas has been preparing students for careers in Allied health, Business, Accounting, and Cosmetology. The school offers enhanced programs of study in training students to become Medical Assistants, Medical Office Specialists, Computerized Accounting Specialists, General Office Skills, Pharmacy Technicians, and Cosmetologists.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), employment in the Clinical/Medical Assistant field is expected to be one of the fastest growing occupations for the next decade. Since medical assistants perform clinical as well as administrative duties, they are in high demand in most health care practices. An increase in chronic medical conditions such as diabetes and obesity is also expected to stimulate job growth in this field.

The BLS also reports that Pharmacy Technicians will experience excellent job growth into the foreseeable future, with growth expected to be as high as 31% over the next ten years. Strong industry growth is also expected in Computerized Accounting, and there are excellent opportunities for Medical Office Specialists nationwide.

Industry professionals, who have extensive practical experience in their fields, teach our courses. Our graduates are qualified to face any situation with the appropriate skills, and the self-confidence to use them.

Our short-term training programs have helped thousands of graduates thrive in their new careers. The U.S. Department of Labor reports that seven out of every ten jobs needs some specialized training beyond high school. Our training has never been more important, especially in these financially difficult times.

Accredited by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education, approved and regulated by the Texas Workforce Commission as well as the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, Southwest Schools meet or exceed all required standards. Along with plenty of classrooms, labs, and offices, we are proud to offer full access to all facilities and equipment for disabled students.

Southwest Schools of Business & Technical Careers currently operates ten schools in seven cities throughout Central and South Texas. We seek to guide students toward their maximum potential by delivering a high quality educational experience. Our Education Works.
