LDATD engages Gabriel for PR & Social Media Program

17-Jun-2011 | News-Press Release

The Learning Disabilities Association of Toronto District (LDATD) will be seeing many changes over the next few months. With the help of Gabriel Press and Relationships (Gabriel PR), a boutique PR & Communications firm, the LDATD has begun to incorporate social media and media relations into its communications plan.

"Our goal with this new program is to increase our visibility through popular social networks," says Mimi Hoffman, Executive Director of the LDATD. "We want to get more parents, teacher's, youth and seniors involved in our organization and we feel that it’s important to spread the message about all our programs and services and what we can offer the LD population and those affected with learning challenges."

The social media plan will begin June 2011, and stretch over a 5 month period. Within that time, the LDATD will be trained in media relations, message development, and social media monitoring and evaluation.

"Involving the community in our social media efforts is very important to us," adds Hoffman. "That way, we can develop a two-way communication about the programs we offer and talk about other issues regarding learning abilities and promote enhanced learning."
