Soc.io eReader Out of Beta. Introduces Smartphone Compatibility

12-Mar-2012 | News-Press Release

Soc.io eReader v1.1.0 is officially out of Beta! With a natural and easy-to-use interface, Soc.io eReader is the closest readers can get to their eBooks. Now the application comes fully compatible with all Android tablets and smartphones and supports the new version of Android OS 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).

In addition to the existing functionalities like page bookmarking, table of contents navigation, highlight important text and switch through 4 reading modes, Soc.io eReader v1.1.0 comes with new types of features and improvements. With the new version readers can instantly scan and import eBooks from their device and share what they are reading on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, email, Bluetooth or SMS. What is even better, readers get in-app access to over 38.000+ free eBook titles from the Soc.io Mall Bookstore.

“We remain dedicated to giving our Android users the best ereading experience possible, and we expect that this positive ereading trend will see the rise of many new features and eBook formats supported by our app.” – says Nikola Georgiev, executive director of Soc.io Mall. “What is more important, Soc.io eReader is now compatible with Android smartphones and users can have a whole eBook library right in their pocket.” – adds Nikola.

A significant improvement is the integration of the previous two versions of Soc.io eReader (one for Android 2.x and another for Android 3.x tablets) into one application. The new version is compatible with all devices running on Android OS 2.0 and higher, including the latest Android OS 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Currently the app supports the EPUB eBook file format and new formats will be introduced during the course of the year.

Soc.io eReader can be downloaded from the official website www.ereader.soc.io, through Soc.io Mall or Google Play. Current users can update to the new version from the Soc.io Mall client application.
