Future Electronics Announces Availability of Renesas RX 600 Series 32-bit MCUs and Development Kits

18-Apr-2012 | News-Press Release

Montreal, Quebec ( prsafe ) April 12, 2012 - Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, announces immediate availability of the RX600 series of 32-bit MCUs, including samples of RX610, RX621, RX62T and RX62N. In addition, all development kits are in stock: RPB, RDKs, RSKs, HEW compilers and debuggers; a wide range of solutions kits are also available, including DDLCD, Wi-Fi and Motor Control.

The new RX600 chips from Renesas are MCU/DSP hybrid Digital Signal Controllers, providing superb MCU performance and powerful signal-processing capabilities, bolstered by the industry's fastest embedded Flash memory - all while achieving very low power consumption.

The RX610 General Purpose MCU family is built around the RX core, with enhanced analog, communication, and timer functions, and equipped with four units of 10-bit A/D converters (1 ms), 10-bit D/A converter, large-capacity memory (2MB flash, 128KB RAM) capable of single-cycle access at 100MHz, 7 channels of SCI, I2C, 16 channels of 16-bit timer, 4 channels of 8-bit timer, and major functions. They enable a system to be configured without peripheral memory and other peripheral devices, reducing the total cost of the system.

The RX62N is equipped with 1 channel of EtherC. 2 channels of USB 2.0 Full-Speed (Host, Function and OTG) and 1 channel of CAN (optional) as a communications interface. The products are designed to not put a restriction on applications based on their communication method; add-ons are used to achieve different communication methods. They are also equipped with a rich set of system fail-safe functions such as power-on reset (POR), low voltage detection (LVD), and an independent watchdog timer.

The high-performance RX62T microcontroller has a maximum operating frequency of 100MHz specifically designed for motor control. RX62T is equipped with multifunction timers (MTU, GPT), high-speed 12-bit A/D converter, and 10-bit A/D converter for facilitating motor control. The products also incorporate many safety features to comply with the IEC60730 safety standard for home appliances. In addition to a maximum of 256KB flash and 16KB RAM on-chip memory, they have a maximum of 32KB of on-chip flash memory for data storage. 64-pin to 112-pin packages are available.
