Multi-frequency R1/R2 software

11-Jul-2012 | News-Press Release

Toronto, CanadaGAO Research Inc. (www.GAOResearch.com) is offering multi-frequency R1/R2 software which is an implementation of ITU-T Recommendations Q.320, Q.322, Q.323, and Q.441 for multi-frequency signal receiving equipment. It is designed with highly optimized assembly or C implementation.

This MF R1/R2 software features low data and program memory requirements. Signaling systems R1 and R2 are used for inter-register signaling. The R1 signaling system is specified by the ITU-T as the North American standard and the R2 signaling system the specification used in Europe. Both signaling systems R1 and R2 consist of two parts: Line signaling and Register signaling. Line signaling is used to handle line and supervisory signals. Register signaling is used for address signals.

R1 and R2 line signaling operates in a digital transmission environment and operations are handled by signaling bits.R1 Register signaling handles address signals using MF in-band pulse signaling at frequencies of 700Hz to 1700Hz, at 200Hz increments. The combination of two of these frequencies determines the signal. R2 Register signaling handles address signals also by sending a combination of two fundamental frequencies. The R2 system uses two different sets of six frequencies to combine for the forward and backward signals.

This MF R1/R2 software belongs to GAO’s family of Telephony Software. This line also includes Automatic Gain Control Software which can adaptively control the dynamic range of a speech signal without amplifying the noise between words and phrases, Call Progress Software which is a tonal signaling standard that is used to acquire connections between subscribers in telephone network systems and to indicate the status of the incoming and outgoing phone calls and Dual Tone Multi-Frequency Software which is commonly used in interactive control applications such as telephone banking, electronic mail systems, and many other menu-driven operations that respond to digits entered from a telephone. GAO provides a complete package for telephony that includes speech compression modules and telephony modules. The software packages can be used for feature phones, Internet phones, multi-channel computer telephony boards, soft PBXs and Voice over IP.
