Professional Workshop to Stimulate Employment

11-Jul-2012 | News-Press Release

KNOXVILLE, TN. (July 9, 2012) – Are you unemployed or underemployed? Are you considering a career change during the financial crisis?  Are you wondering if an MBA will help you reach your professional goals?  If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, you should attend a professional workshop provided by Dr. Daryl Green, a noted lecturer.

On July 10th, 5:45pm, Lincoln Memorial University’s School of Business will present a professional workshop at its Knoxville Cedar Bluff Site.  Dr. Green will discuss proven strategies to assist individuals in finding that desired job opportunity. Additionally, professional recruiters will be available to discuss job related issues. Faculty and staff will be available to discuss LMU’s MBA program and tour the campus facility.  Prospective students will be allowed to sit in an actual MBA class. Refreshments will be served. The event is free.

With 15 million unemployed in America, individuals are searching for glimmers of hope that the economy is rebounding.  In March, U.S. companies posted the highest number of job openings in nearly four years, a sign that hiring could strengthen in the coming months after slowing this spring. However, the increase in job openings suggests that weaker hiring gains in March and April could be temporary. It usually takes one to three months for employers to fill openings.

Dr. Green remarks: “Today’s job market demands that individuals develop their own personal strategy for employment. Using the same stall methods will not work. However, most people just don’t get it.”  In the workshop, he will provide his top ten strategies for employment.  Dr. Green has done extensive research on cultural issues impacting today and future leaders. He also serves as a LMU adjunct professor. His last book, Job Strategies for the 21st Century: How to Assist Today’s College Students during Economic Turbulence, has been rated number one on Amazon.com. The book provides practical solutions to the challenges today’s college students face as they struggle to find employment in an unstable economy.

Dr. Green argues, “We have not done good enough effort on job preparation.  Students need to be mentally tough. It is a hard lesson to learn for most people.”  He adds that an MBA degree can be helpful for furthering one’s career aspiration. However, the degree has to complement the overall personal branding package.

Job Strategies for the 21st Century is available online at Amazon.com and other book retailers. You can also view the book trailer on Youtube.com at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_LKEMrIweA. Dr. Green is available for media interviews. For more information about the book or the authors, please contact Donna Gilliard at 865-216-9209 or visit Dr. Green on his website, www.darylgreen.org.
