North Palm Beach, FL (prsafe ) July 23, 2012 - In October this year to celebrate the redevelopment and refurbishment of one of Galveston’s oldest landmarks - the Galveston Yacht Basin - one of the biggest additions to Galveston’s annual event line up will be taking place, the Texas Coast Boat & Outdoor Show.

This grand “festival�, taking place from October 12-14, at the Galveston Yacht Basin, will feature over 100 boats in the water, power and sail, with many ready to demo right there at the dock, including sailboats from Jeanneau, Beneteau, Lagoon, Hunter and Dufour, plus a huge onshore exhibition where event attendees will have the opportunity to check out the latest in watercraft, motor homes and novel recreational vehicles. Fishing supplies, waterski and wakeboarding accessories, products and services for the boating lifestyle along with helpful tools and marine accessories are just some of the featured display items. Browse all types of outdoor merchandise! There are items sure to please all members of the family. This is part of the fun of attending this boating and outdoor event. The panoramic sunrise and sunset views over the beautiful water is an event in its own breathtaking category.

The event will also include the action packed National Tri-Hull Powerboat Championship, taking place in view of Show attendees, plus a “Mardi Gras� style Boat Show Parade on Saturday morning along the Seawall, featuring some of the fastest offshore powerboats in the USA who will be seen later in the day crossing a Poker Run finish line at the Show. A redfish tournament weigh-in and live bands on stage, food and beverages at realistic prices will complete this three days of fun in the sun in the great City of Galveston.

Don’t miss the Miss GEICO Racing team with the amazing Miss GEICO and The Caveman Powerboats on display. Meet Throttleman Scotty Begovitch along with the Racing Team and win some great prizes at the GEICO display.

The event organizers are also working with the Galveston Historical Society to create fund raising opportunities to assist with the repairs aboard the 1877 Tall Ship Elissa, the official Tall Ship of Texas and, once again, will be partnering with the Corpus Christi Police Athletic League to raise monies for this worthy non-profit organization.
