John McGarry Photography was established 10 years ago. We are a progressive photography business located in the village of Patrickswell Co.Limerick which is just outside Limerick city.

Our business encompasses three disciplines – Wedding, Portraitue, Commercial & Event photography. We work out of our 1,000 square foot studio which is beautifully appointed and features state of the art studio and photographic equipment. We also have a beautiful gallery section, changing rooms, and kitchen facilities. We are members of the IPPA Irish Professional Photographers Association.

The main side of our business is in wedding photography. We are highly experienced in this field and are very proud of our achievements and awards received from the photographic industry.

Our photography is presented in the finest of albums namely Graphistudio, Seldex and Jorgensen albums. We are also leaders in the region in our audio visual presentation in that we can provide stunning full HD slideshows. We have had many influences on our work by the world’s great wedding photographers such as Gerry Ghionis and Yervant. Inspiration to achieve a constantly higher standard in our photography while building on our reputation has been incredibly important. The way we use lighting in our photography has evolved over time and we believe that it is so essential to use the best in available natural lighting, combined with off-camera lighting to achieve the best lighting. Our style of wedding photography is based on fashion- meets- wedding,  a celebration of good times and a touch of classical romance thrown in. Attention to small details and a quick eye to catch fleeting moments – a look a smile , spontaneous laughter all make up for great wedding photography. We mainly cover neighbouring counties of Cork, Kerry, Clare & Tipperary but we also will travel throughout Ireland and are available for destination weddings – particularly Italy, France and Spain.

Studio photography is our second discipline and very different again to wedding photography.

We use the finest in Elinchrom studio lighting and have trained extensively with Elinchrom in the U.K. Over time it seems that you can stumble across techniques which produce a superior look and feel to studio photography, and we feel very much that simpler approaches do really work best when it comes to lighting. Most of our studio work is done using single light source – namely our Elinchrom Octa is our most used studio light and produces magnificent soft light.

We have many photographic backgrounds to choose from and these compliment to mood of our photography. Post processing in studio photography is just as important as the sitting itself and we utilise advanced Photoshop actions to achieve the distinctive look and feel to our work that makes us so recognisable. We can also provide a full printing and framing service through our studio with a fantastic variety of quality framing and presentation options to suit your home or workplace.

The final sector is in Commercial and Event Photography. This is constantly growing for us and we cover conferences, special occasions and product photography.
