Montreal, Canada (prsafe) March 13, 2012 - Future Electronics, a global leading distributor of electronic components, announces immediate availability of MeanWell's new 150 Watt High Efficiency AC/DC Front End Module. The HSP-150 series comprises high efficiency, lower wattage and low output voltage AC/DC type power supplies for LED display applications.

HSP-150 features active PFC function and provides three low output voltage models (2.5V/3.8V/5V), designed to drive the RGB (red, green and blue color) LED chips. David Carroll, Product Marketing Manager for Future Electronics explains, "Compared to traditional driving methods that use only one 5V voltage power supply to drive RGB LEDs by further dragging down to different voltages, this new system design concept significantly increases the overall efficiency by using lower driving voltages."

With the most up to date circuit design, the HSP-150 series achieves up to 90% high efficiency, so it can be cooled by free air convection from -30℃ to +70℃ ambient temperature for 150W (30A), and for 200W (40A) by suitable forced air. Furthermore, it is equipped with basic anti-moisture and anti-dust ability via conformal coating protection on the PCB. To solve the voltage drop problem caused by output wiring, the HSP-150 has a built-in remote sense function to compensate for the voltage drop. Other standard functions include: adjustable resistor to fine tune ±10% rated output voltage, short circuit, overload, over voltage and over temperature protections. All series comply with UL, CUL, TUV, CB and CE, guaranteeing safety. Applications include LED electric display, LED TV wall and LED moving signs, etc. Carroll added, "In addition, the HSP-150 series comes complete with a 3-year warranty."
