Seattle, WA ( prsafe ) May 9, 2012 - TisBest Philanthropy announced the quarterly distribution of funds to over 250 charity organizations across the U.S. This is a 20% increase in funds donated over last year.

TisBest Executive Director Jon Siegel said "A growing number of individuals and businesses are discovering the wonderful alternative a gift of charity can be as opposed to a gift of 'more stuff'."

"We're especially pleased that interest in charity gift cards is growing when many non-profits have struggled financially due to the difficult economic environment," said Eric Marks, TisBest's founder.

The five top beneficiaries of of TisBest donations are: American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), ALSAC St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, American Cancer Society, Feeding America, and Doctors Without Borders.

It is absolutely free for charities to participate in the TisBest program and the money they receive is unrestricted. Since its inception, TisBest, a Washington-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has raised nearly $3 million for charity.

Susan Messina, director of special projects for National Hospice Foundation, one of the organizations supported by TisBest said, "The unrestricted funds we receive from TisBest are appreciated at our organization.Undesignated gifts help the NHF pay for the many everyday operating expenses that keep our organization running"

TisBest supports nearly 250 charitable organizations in 17 categories, including Art & Culture, Education, Children, Disabilities, Human Rights, Medical Research, and Women's Issues.

Individuals and businesses purchase TisBest Charity Gift Cards to give as gifts. The recipients spend the cards by selecting up to three charities to receive the money.
