Adaptive Noise Suppression Algorithm Features Real-Time Audio Processing

News-Press Release

(Newsbox) 16-May-2012

This adaptive noise suppression algorithm is designed to suppress both stationary and non-stationary background noise from speech.

Toronto, CanadaGAO Research Inc. (www.GAOResearch.com) is offering its adaptive noise suppression algorithm. It is designed to suppress both stationary and non-stationary background noise from speech.

This adaptive noise suppression algorithm features real-time audio processing and C-callable functions. Taking advantage of the signal characteristics of human speech, the algorithm extracts the signals of interest and adaptively cancels the noise that is present in the background. It provides natural sounding and undistorted speech output.

Noises embedded in speech are especially perceivable when compressed and transmitted. Non-stationary background noises that change over time are even more perceivable when played back. By continuously tracking the characteristics of the noise signal, GAO's adaptive algorithm effectively eliminates this background noise resulting in much clearer speech over the communication channel. The code is developed using ANSI C and can be ported to a wide range of DSP and microprocessor platforms.

This adaptive noise suppression algorithm belongs to GAO’s family of Telephony Software. This line includes Line Echo Canceller (LEC) Software, Dual Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) Software, Voice Activity Detector (VAD), Call Progress (CP) Software and some other similar products.GAO provides a complete package for telephony that includes speech compression modules and telephony modules. The software packages can be used for Feature phones, Internet Phones multi-channel computer telephony boards, soft PBXs and Voice over IP.
