Dallas, TX ( prsafe ) July 12, 2012 - At his thriving plastic surgery practice in Dallas and Frisco, Dr. Andrew Trussler is seeing an increased demand for breast enhancement surgery, confirming recent data from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Well-known plastic surgeon, Dr. Andrew Trussler, is seeing a significant rise in the number of breast augmentation inquiries at his practice in Dallas and Frisco. While the procedure, itself, is anything but new, breast enhancement is seeing a new jump in popularity, nationwide.

"Breast augmentation has long been the go-to treatment for women with small or disproportionate breasts," explains Dr. Trussler. "This recent uptick in popularity reinforces how powerful and effective a treatment it can be." Dr. Trussler's observations confirm data recently published by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. According to the Society, there were over 307,000 breast augmentation procedures performed in 2011. That represents a remarkable 4% growth in popularity in one year alone.

Asked to speculate on a driving force behind this recent growth, Dr. Trussler offered a few possibilities. "For one, the procedure works — we can predictably and safely increase breast size and fullness," explains Dr. Trussler. "More importantly, it changes not only the way a woman looks, but the way she feels as well."

During a breast augmentation procedure, a silicone or saline implant is placed underneath either breast tissue or the chest wall muscle. Performed under general anesthesia, the procedure works to significantly enhance breast size and proportion. Often, breast augmentation will be combined with Breast Lift Surgery to achieve a patient's desired results.

Asked about the future of cosmetic medicine, Dr. Trussler was optimistic about surgical procedures like breast augmentation. "It's a common misconception that minimally-invasive treatments are the only procedures seeing growth," says Dr. Trussler. "Surgery, however, continues to be a vital and significant part of the work we do. The results can be simply dramatic."
