Developing Global Leaders through Community Service in Emerging Countries With Susan J. Thomas, Ph.D., IBM Global Business Services, Organizational & People Consulting, and MSBCoach
As companies expand globally there is an increased need for leadership development programs to include experiences in countries in which their companies work. Many companies do year or longer rotations, which can put strains on the employee's families. IBM's Corporate Service Corps, often called a corporate peace corps, has created a global leadership development program in which teams of 10 to 15 employees from around the world - and in one month develop important leadership skills as well as provide significant benefits to local communities. Susan will share insights and information about how IBM prepares its team for global leadership through their one of a kind global leadership program. She will share how the findings of this group can be applied to other groups wanting to develop global leaders.
This webinar will answer the following three questions:
How can a company develop its leaders and at the same time provide benefits to community organizations and businesses in emerging countries? What are some of the critical success factors in launching a global leadership development program? How long might it take to plan a launch this type of global leadership development program?
