JDA, Western Avionics and Aerobytes Form Flight Data Monitor Program Partnership

11-Mar-2011 | News-Press Release

Bethesda, Maryland – JDA Aviation Technology Solutions (JDA), Western Avionics and Aerobytes today announced a partnership to provide a turn-key Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) and Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA) solution for air carriers and helicopter operators.

The team’s solution includes FDM/FOQA program implementation, training and support, hardware and software provided by Western Avionics’ Aircraft Real time Information System (ARTIS) and Aerobytes’ FDM/FOQA Software, respectively.

The ARTIS hardware monitors, logs and transmits aircraft data through a Web-based flight following system. Flight data is collected and made available through secure hosted servers. ARTIS is compact and lightweight and interfaces with the Aerobytes’ software to provide the total FDM/FOQA solution.

The Aerobytes’ FOQA Software is the most advanced and fully specified FOQA software available. No other product provides as many standard integrated features, and no other product provides equivalent levels of automation. As a result, users spend much  less time spent managing data.

Dr. Tom Longridge, the former FAA FDM/FOQA program director and foremost expert with more than 20 years FOQA experience, will lead the implementation and training component provided by JDA.

To learn more about the JDA/Western Avionics/Aerobytes FDM/FOQA solution contact Bill Norwood, JDA Vice President Products and Technology at 301-941-1460 (ext 170) or 540-825-6663, or via email to wnorwood@jdasolutions.aero.

About Western Avionics - Western Avionics is Canada’s largest avionics and instruments support facility. Clearly one of the country’s most modern and well-equipped facilities, Western offers a full complement of diversified avionics services, including the purchase and sale of new and used avionics, equipment, parts; equipment overhaul; retrofit and new aircraft installations; MRP (Mobile Repair Personnel) services, and specialized manufacturing.

The company is a factory-authorized service and warranty center for all major avionics manufacturers. The roster reads like a proverbial Who’s Who among the top firms. It includes such well-established and respected names as Aspen, Avidyne, Becker Avionics, Bendix/King, BF Goodrich, Cobham, Collins, Garmin, Honeywell, L3 Communications, Universal Avionics  to name a few.

About  Aerobytes - Aerobytes is emerging as the industry leader in Flight Data Monitoring software with its easy to use system and innovative tools.  In the past seven years its customer base has grown to more than 150 airlines worldwide.  Aerobytes has attracted 'first-time' FDM/FOQA operators.  The system has become the 'upgrade of choice' for experienced FDM/FOQA operators.  Users have found the move to an Aerobytes system preferable to receiving an upgrade of their existing legacy software.

Aerobytes has teamed up with several Safety Management System (SMS) providers to provide a unique and Total Safety Management System solution to aircraft operators.  Driven by customer demand the system allows data from these two previously separate safety databases to be integrated to reveal underlying information that previously appeared unconnected.   Aerobytes' users can record corrective actions and display them over statistical reports to view their effect and help with the audit process.
