Klingel will guide participants on a tour of Eyre Hall gardens using superb garden photography, horticultural insight and historical anecdotes. Her talk will focus on the 200 year old boxwoods and gnarled crape myrtles that tower over the traditional swept paths, all enclosed by a wall of brick brought as ballast from England. English-style mixed borders add color, and opposite is the romantic 1819 orangery ruin. She plants more than 6000 new bulbs in the two acre garden every year and will have lots of practical advice for the home gardeners attending the event.

Klingel holds a degree in Natural Resources from the University of Massachusetts, and is currently working on her masters degree in horticulture from Virginia Tech.  She has been gardening at Eyre Hall for 6 years, overseeing the installation of thousands of spring bulbs and perennials as well as tending the extensive boxwood plantings.  Her passion for history and horticulture will be represented in her talk.
