AutoTex Pink Sponsors Canada's National Car Care Month

19-May-2011 | News-Press Release

Pine Brook, NJ: AutoTex PINK, the windshield wiper blade that is working to “Wipe Out Breast Cancer,” has announced that it will be sponsoring Be Car Care Aware’s “Looking Down The Road” campaign. Be Car Care Aware, a campaign to provide Canadian drivers with information about the benefits of vehicle maintenance, care, and repair, has designed a consumer education initiative extending from May to October.

The program, beginning in May (National Car Care Month) and ending in October (National Car Safety Month), aims to impress upon drivers the importance of being prepared and how to anticipate vehicle safety and maintenance needs before they occur. It advises consumers that anticipating and repairing your cars small issues will help in avoiding large costs and consequences in the future.

But how will the Be Car Care Aware campaign reach the Canadian consumers? To start, Kelly Williams, a CASCAR veteran, and spokesperson, will be traveling the country teaching drivers the necessities of proactive maintenance and preserving their investment. “Whether it’s automobile maintenance or driving, I cannot stress enough the importance of breaking some of our worst habits and changing our nasty behaviors,” said Williams. “The way to do that is by looking far down the road when driving, planning for road trips and maintaining the investment in your vehicle.”

Both AutoTex Pink and Kelly Williams agree on one thing: the importance of great windshield wipers! Williams advises that Canadians make sure wipers are cleaning as they should. Poor quality or improperly functioning wipers could cause limited sight distance for the driver which might lead to grave consequences on the road.

“We are very excited to be partnering with Be Car Care Aware. I can’t impress upon consumers enough the importance of windshield wipers in ensuring automobile safety” said Paula Lombard, founder of AutoTex Pink. “Why operate with anything but the absolute maximum sight distance?”

What else is BCCA doing to help Canadians “Look Down the Road”? Free online resources including the “10 minute Road trip Check Up”, “Do It yourself Road trip First Aid Kit”, and Road Side Emergency Kit” can be found at www.carcarecanada.ca.
