This mobile RFID reader has the ability to read and encode RFID tags, capture 1D, 1D at extended ranges (ER, US Only) and 2D bar codes as well as images. It can collect data from a remote distance that a fixed RFID reader could not achieve. Its high flexibility makes it suitable for use on the manufacturing floor, in the warehouse, on the loading dock, and out in the yard as well as in the back room or out on the sales floor of a retail operation.

GAO RFID Inc.'s handheld RFID reader, model 246009, utilizes accurate locating technology and provides a unique combination of intuitive audible and visual cues which can quickly guide users to locate any desired item; when the device approaches the desired item, its buzz sound increases as well as the size of the sliding graphics item. The flexible RFID reader also features real-time wireless LAN connectivity which gives users the real-time information needed to streamline business processes, increase productivity and make better decisions. With support for U.S. frequencies, APAC frequencies and the European standard ETSI EN302 208, this versatile mobile RFID reader can be deployed around the world.

It complies with IP64 sealing standard and has passed severe falling and tumbling test allowing it to be used under demanding environments and less maintenance is required. This advanced RFID reader is equipped with integrated internal antenna and offers a read range from 6.09 to 304.8 cm and a write range from 30.5 to 60.9 cm. A large QVGA color screen allows for clear and easy view of collected data.
