The first customer to install a V200 energy ball in eastern washington. Dr. Larosa will benefit by selling power back to the grid in Kittitas county, where the cost of electricity is the most expensive in the state.
Larosa goes offgrid in Cle Elum, Wa, a small town about 80 miles east of Seattle along I-90 cooridor. The subject property was instrumented with average wind speeds between 18-25 mph. The anticipated annual ouput should be around 11,000 to 15,000 KWh. A certified digital revenue production meter by Power Logics was installed to record total output. The meter has a built in wireless card enabling us to monitor the output in real time via our internet web site. Many people have visited the site and have commented on how quiet the turbine is, even at high wind speeds. The energy ball was designed to cancel out the noise of the wind, while producing a venturi affect inside the rotor section between the inside of the blades. Northwest Windpower, assisted by AMC Electric designed the system, permitted and installed the turbine and all components.
