Ashley Software released Version 4 of its Writer’s Blocks software program May 27, 2011.  Writer's Blocks has been completely updated with the new ribbon interface menus and it now installs easily with the newer operating systems. Users can now include footnotes and pictures in their blocks, and the spell check, thesaurus and printing features have all been enhanced, just to mention a few of the new features. Now in its 17th year, Writer's Blocks visual outlining capabilities helps writers of all types write better and faster.

Writer’s Blocks can be installed on Windows 7/Vista. One of the most requested new features of Writer’s Blocks software program is that each block has an optional footnote area where the user could enter reference information (or any other type of information). When the user transfers block text to the manuscript, the footnotes are compiled at the end for a bibliography. Their writing software is a tool and not a method. The New Ribbon Interface and Drag and Drop Columns are some of the new features that are part of the Version 4 of Writer’s Blocks. Selecting Blocks and Inserting Graphics are also easier in the new version.  Other features include a Mouse Wheel Scrolls Text in Blocks, a New Spell Check Tool and Thesaurus, a Zoom Power Panel, Automax, and Multi – level Undo / Redo of Block Text.
