Eddy Salomon a Work at Home'aholic Offers tips on Choosing Legitimate Work from Home Jobs

20-May-2012 | News-Press Release

White Plains, NY ( prsafe ) May 17, 2012 - There are hundreds of online jobs available over the internet unfortunately it is hard to decide which one is real or not. Either folks are confusing jobs with home based businesses or some of these so called opportunities are flat out scams. Either way a rule of thumb is to always research any work at home related company before doing any business with them. Eddy Salomon provides various tips to find the right work at home jobs and avoid the scams.

Generally people search for work at home online jobs on mega job sites. However these sites aren't really specialized in home based jobs. If they aren't using this technique they tend to search for work at home jobs using search engines. Most of the time this leads to home based business opportunities, sponsored ads or websites that aren't necessarily the best or updated regularly. None of these options are really what job seekers want or need.

Here are the tips one needs to follow while searching for work from home jobs.

(a)If you find a company, website or person offering a work at home opportunity, do your research. Don't assume anything! You should do a search for their name or website with the keyword scam. For instance, search "CompanyWebsite.com Scam". Or it could be "Name of Person Scam". If the person or website has complaints, websites will usually be displayed that provide further details about this. If no results are provided that provide negative or positive feedback, then the company or person should be ignored until you can get some definitive results. Look for a pattern of good or negative feedback. Every company will have some negative feedback because you can't please everyone. But most of their feedback should be positive. If not, then its not a company you want to work with.

(b)When trying to locate online jobs it's better to use keywords like virtual work, remote work, telework, flexible work, home office, telecommuter, telecommuting, etc. You're more likely to filter out the scams this way. There are websites that are experts in locating these type of jobs using such keywords. They can do a lot of the work for you if you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself.

(c)Common sense goes a long way when it comes to this industry. Too often desperation clouds people's judgement. It's always a good idea to assume everything is a scam until your research has proven otherwise. If it sounds to good to be true, it usually is. But doing your research will always confirm this!

At the end of the day, the best way to fight scams is to be skeptical. And when you do run across a scam, report it immediately online so others can avoid it.
