The Smart Plug Meter, which supports a network of up to 256 plug meters, displays energy measurement data and manages energy usage via a wireless mesh networking module from Synapse and a solid-state relay. The reference design provides an "all-in-one-solution," as described by Nathan Lee, Technical Marketing Manager for Future Energy Solutions as he discusses the device on the video with Bruno Baylac, Director of Medical, Metering & Connectivity for the Microcontroller Solutions Group at Freescale Semiconductor.

The Smart Plug Meter is one of the latest power measurement reference designs for smart homes, taking advantage of smart grid and home area network technology to enable load control and accurate energy measurement.
