Zee Institute of Creative Arts (ZICA), one of India’s leading animation institutes, announced the addition of their new block in the Noida center. ZICA has partnered with two NGO’s namely:  Prerna Niketan Sangh  & Deepalaya  to provide free creative course scholarship for the underprivileged students. The scholarship will serve as a gateway for underprivileged students keen to make a career in the exciting and unbounded world of animation.

Zee Institute of Creative Art is India’s first full-fledged classical and digital animation training academy that trains youth in creative art courses and classical 2D & modern 3D animation. A recent study by NASSCOM shows that the animation industry in India is set to grow at a CAGR of 27% to reach USD 1163 million by 2013.

Through this initiative, ZICA in association with Prerna Niketan Sangh & Deepalaya will provide scholarship up to 100%, applicable to ZICA center in Noida.  Prerna Niketan Sangh is registered with Delhi Government and is working for physically challenged children since 1998. Deepalaya is an NGO working on issues affecting the urban and rural poor, with a special focus on children.

The scholarship would be based on first come – first serve basis. To be eligible for the creative course scholarship students need to register at the ZICA centre and take a test, called the “Creativity Test”. Students will be awarded scholarship based on their performance in this test. Under this scholarship one can choose from an array of creative courses available at ZICA.

With the media industry opening up to absorb new professionals, young talent needs a credible foundation to guide them in their path to success. With this scholarship we aim to provide an avenue to meritorious underprivileged students who are eager to pursue a career in animation.”

Animation is entailed in every possible industry from entertainment, TV commercials, cartoon movies etc to engineering, architecture, interior designing, education, gaming and many more. “A huge surge in the requirement for skilled creative artists & animators in the Indian industry has been observed in the recent times. ZICA trains students to meet the requirements and expectations with confidence and skill” added Mr Prabhanjan Chappar, Business Head for ZICA.
