Miami, FL (prsafe) July 3, 2012 - Miami event photographer Jay Guttveg will be "crowned" as president of South Florida's Chapter of MPI (Meeting Professionals International) on June 29th, 2012 at a gala hosted at Trump International Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida.

MPI is an association spanning several nations across the globe, its members specializing in producing meetings and special events. MPI maintains a strong emphasis on quality education, certification programs, and offers a strong network of top shelf specialists in the industry, from planners to technical producers.

As a South Florida event photographer, Guttveg is hired to document conference activities, photograph participants and create stunning images for corporate promotional use.

"Some of the high-tech productions you'll find at these large corporate events present their own challenges," Guttveg explains. "They can be pretty theatrical in regards to lighting and effects, using lasers and smoke for example." Capturing the drama of these events require great skill and experience. When it comes to a grand entrance, you only have one shot to get it right!

But on June 29, 2012 Jay Guttveg will himself be the man of honor, installed as president of MPI's South Florida Chapter. He will be in front of the camera this time, instead of behind it. He will be the focus of some other photographer's lens instead of his own.

But after the confetti has been swept up, the tables cleared and the band sent home, it will be time for Guttveg to take his Chapter to new heights, serving his members, clients, and community.

"My hope is to raise the bar of professionalism for MPI, and to expand the opportunities for members to grow as entrepreneurs as well as individuals."

Jay has shown strong leadership in contributing to whatever association he belongs to, including NACE (National Association of Catering Executives) where he networks as a Miami wedding photographer.

As newly minted president of MPI, Guttveg may not be sporting a jeweled crown but his benevolence will be appreciated by all the members on June 29th. Installation dinner will be held at Trump International Beach Resort, in Sunny Isles, Florida at 7 PM.
