Bangalore based start-up, Yotto Labs (www.yottolabs.com), has released a free Facebook Application, YottoFinder (www.yottofinder.com) yesterday for helping the earthquake/tsunami impacted people in Japan. The young engineers at this start-up got so much moved with calamities of the Tsunami, that they stopped their primary delivery for a week to respond to the social needs of the people impacted by this major catastrophe.

Much like the ‘Person Finder’ application from Google which was released just 2 days before their app, they decided to help people to report about their impacted friends who might be missing or dead so that everybody else come to know about it. Since the app is on the Facebook platform and by allowing one to report information only about their friends, YottoFinder reduces the opportunity of spreading unconfirmed or inaccurate information.  

However they have kept the search functionality to a public scope so that anyone can search the list of impacted people, reported by everyone. 

This is humanitarian effort from Yotto Labs which focuses on Social Networks, iPhone and Android apps to deliver human values. Yotto Labs requests all concerned citizens of the world to spread the message about YottoFinder (www.yottofinder.com).
