SALT LAKE CITY, April 28, 2010—Mountain America Credit Union has partnered with the Utah Jazz and Huntsman Cancer Foundation to help fight cancer. During the Utah Jazz’s 2010–2011 season, Mountain America donated $50 to the Huntsman Cancer Foundation for every three-point shot made by Utah Jazz players. The total contribution came to $21,350.
“Once again, the Huntsman Cancer Foundation is honored to be the recipient of the generosity of Mountain American’s employees and members in the fight against cancer. This disease affects almost every one of us in one way or another, and cancer patients and their families will benefit from Mountain America’s thoughtful efforts for years to come,” commented Robert Haight, executive vice president of the Huntsman Cancer Foundation.
Sterling Nielsen, Mountain America’s CEO, and his daughter presented the $21,350 check to Haight and Bud Scruggs, president of Huntsman Cancer Foundation, during halftime of the Jazz’s final regular season home game.
“This check for $21,350 will go directly to cancer research. On behalf of nearly 1,000 medical oncologists, scientists and other professionals at Huntsman Cancer Institute and Hospital, we thank Mountain America for this wonderful donation. We look forward to continuing the fight against cancer with the credit union by our side,” continued Mr. Haight.
