Milton Kirby Served as Moderator for MED Week Atlanta 2010

ATLANTA, GA – Milton Kirby, President of Allied Logistics, Inc., served as moderator for the 28th Annual Atlanta Region MED Week on August 12, 2010. MED Week (Minority Enterprise Development Week) is an annual event hosted by the U.S. Department of Commerce Minority Business Development Agency. This year’s installment of MED Week Atlanta brought together Minority-owned Business owners, Corporate Presidents, and Government officials to share experiences dealing with 2010’s theme of “Strategies for Growth and Competitiveness in the Global Economy.” MED Week activities began in the morning with the 2nd Annual Business Summit hosted by AT&T and concluded with the 28th Annual Atlanta Regional MED Week Awards at the Georgia Power Headquarters.
The panelists spoke on the importance of partnering and strategic alliances as part of the “Strategies for Succeeding Through Partnerships” workshop at the Business Summit. The presenters for the workshop included Stacey Scott, CEO of Elgia, Inc. and Steve Board, Vice President - National Accounts of Carter Brothers, Inc.
Ms. Scott said that partnerships throughout her company’s existence have contributed enormously to Elgia’s growth and success. Steve Board shared that the Carter Brothers started out with strategic partners and the Company has continued to successfully build upon that foundation.
