Toronto, Canada - GAO RFID Asset Tracking (www.GAORFIDAssetTracking.com) has launched its Gen 2 CF RFID reader/writer for mobile applications. The CF RFID Reader/Writer makes it easy for small to medium size businesses to handle anything from meeting government mandates to managing RFID labeling for supply chains.

This Gen 2 (UHF) compact flash (CF) RFID reader/writer, model 236008, supports any standard CF interface and can be used on the desktop with most PCs and laptops or in the field with a PDA. The RF output power range is from 5 to 27 dB.

It is compatible with EPC Class1 Gen 2 protocol operating at a frequency range of 860 to 960 MHz to meet North America, the EU and other worldwide standards and offers a read/write distance of up to 50 cm.

In addition, it consumes little power: 5 mA in sleep mode, 170 mA in idle mode, and 800 mA at 27 dBm, 650mA at 24 dBm and 500 mA at21 dBm in scan mode.

This CF RFID reader/writer belongs to GAO's family of Healthcare Asset Tracking Readers.
