15-Dec-2011 | News-Press Release

Forbes has named Worldwide Power Products, a power generation equipment company, one of America’s Most Promising Companies. The independent company based in Houston, Texas, provides power generation equipment, including new and used Caterpillar and Cummins generators and engines, to the electric power, petroleum and marines industries as well as municipalities.

Worldwide Power Products ranks #86 on the new Forbes list of America’s 100 Most Promising Companies – which Brett Nelson of the Forbes staff describes as “privately held up-and-comers with compelling business models, strong management teams, notable customers, strategic partners and precious investment capital.”

Founder and CEO Will Perry began Worldwide Power Products in 2008, and later raised $3 million from private investors. The company buys and sells industrial generators that typically go for $60,000 to more than $600,000. Forbes reports Worldwide Power Products had $5.7 million in annual revenue in 2010. The company’s revenue has increased 338% to $25 million in 2011.

“Our goal is to provide our customers with the highest quality equipment and customer service,” says Mark Lum, Vice President and co-owner of Worldwide Power Products. “A key differentiator for us in this industry is that we physically inventory our stock and we stand behind our products.”
