This 2.45 GHz active RFID WiFi reader, model 217002, implements GFSK modulation and performs multi-detection of RFID tags. Using a built in omni-directional antenna, this RFID reader identifies transponder tagged items up to 100 meters in all directions. The identification distance is able to be adjusted from less than 5 meters to 100 meters according to actual situations in order to make identification more accurate.

This RFID reader boasts a high data rate of 1 Mbps and a large buffer capacity to store the latest 800 messages. This optimized reader uses an advanced 0.18 µm CMOS IC for ultra-low power consumption of only 50 mA. It communicates via WiFi which uses 802.11b wireless communication standard to a host system. In addition, this RFID reader has dual operating modes for data collection: direct mode and buffering mode. In direct mode, the reader uploads messages to the host system in real time. In buffering mode, the reader receives and saves messages which are uploaded only when requested by the host system.
